SBEM Building Regulations Calculations

The Building Regulations Part L 2010 require that, at the design stage, all new commercial buildings and some extensions are assessed for their energy efficiency through SBEM calculations.

SBEM is the government approved software that is used to demonstrate compliance with the Building Regs Part L and to produce an energy rating for the proposed building.

The energy assessment calculates the CO2 emissions of the planned structure based on the u-values of the building fabric, thermal bridging, HVAC, lighting and insulation levels. Your local building control officer will not allow any work to commence without the SBEM energy calculations being completed.

Carbon.gc have fully qualified, experienced energy assessors who take a practical approach and are ready to guide you through the process and to ensure that we achieve a Pass first time.

We guarantee that your building will achieve the target emissions rate and full compliance with Part L 2010.

Once your project is complete, Carbon.gc  will convert your SBEM assessment into a new build Energy Performance Certificate. This will then allow your Building Control Officer to release the building.
